Who are we?
  • We are an in-house custom fabric printing shop. We print your fabric ourselves!
  What is custom fabric printing?
  • We custom print your design of choice to your fabric base of choice.
  • Due to this process, we do not offer refunds. If there is an issue (flaw or damage) with your fabric purchase, please contact us within 3 business days so that we can fix it.

  • We do our absolute best to source the softest fabrics for you. Due to different fabric lots, inflation, shipping and/or inventory issues our bases may vary slightly from time to time. 
  What is TAT?
  • TAT is “Turn Around Time.”
  • TAT is how long it takes us to print your order and have it packed for shipping.
  • TAT is calculated in Business Days only and does not include the time it takes for shipping. For orders placed after 3pm CST, business days will start the following day. 
  • Business Days are Monday through Friday, not including Holidays. (We spend the weekends as a family!)
  How to order a custom fabric print?
  1. Purchase a seamless design image. (Or create one yourself)
    1. If you need a seamless design file – please locate our Facebook VIP group (Modern Mae Fabrics VIP) and use the Search feature to find our list of Favorite Graphic Designers.
  2. Go to, select the Custom fabric listing of your choice.
  3. Upload your Design File
  4. Select the SCALING you would like and the number of yards. Add to cart and checkout!
  • For best results please make sure your image is 300-700 DPI. NO COPYRIGHT IMAGES. You must have RIGHTS to use the design file you are uploading.

  • We print using CMYK formatting. If the file is not formatted this way, colors may vary. We do not offer refunds for coloring when files are not formatted using CMYK.

  • What is Scaling? Scaling is the number of times your image will be repeated to make a yard of fabric. The smaller the scale, the smaller the images in your design.
  • The following are suggestions only and you are responsible for selecting the scaling of your choice for each item purchased.
    • 3x3 or 4x4 –  Usually works best for Bows, Doll Clothes or Scrunchies
    • 4x4 or 5x5 –  Great for Bummies and Kids Clothing
    • 6x6 –   Kids clothing
    • 12x12 –  Adult clothing and Glitter files
    • Have a Full Yard File? Select “Full Yard File” under scaling.
      • **Full Yard Files are not seamless files. The designers create them to be printed with specific dimensions. (Examples: Bow files like 7in1, 8in1 or 18in1; Panels)

  What are the measurements for a yard of fabric?
  • A fabric yard is measured by {width of the fabric} x {36 inches long}
  • Width of fabric depends on the base fabric - we will print as wide as our printer allows for each width of base fabric. Normally this will be 56-62 inches wide.
  • At Modern Mae Fabrics we print our custom yards a little more than 36 inches long. Who doesn’t like a little extra fabric, said no one ever!
    • **with the exception of Full Yard Files (those will always be 36 inches or printed at what your File is preset at.)
  Multiple Yard Sales
  • If you purchase multiple yards of the same print, they will be continuous yards, not individually printed or cut. 
  Why is there a white border around my custom print?
  • At Modern Mae our printer will only print up to a certain width and each fabric base we offer can vary in said width. We print as wide as our printer will allow for each base fabric!
  What is RTS?
  • Occasionally we will offer some Ready To Ship (RTS) fabrics. These may be solid color fabrics or already printed.
  • Turn around time for RTS is 2-3 Business Days.
  • If you purchase both RTS fabrics and Custom prints in one order, your order will fall under the current Custom TAT before shipping.
  What is RTP?
  • Ready to Print. 
  • We have purchased commercial licenses from some of our favorite graphic designers so that you don't have to purchase that file yourself.
  • You still need to select the fabric base and Scaling for each RTP item you wish to purchase.
  • RTP will follow the current CUSTOM TAT at time of purchase.

  • We offer options for both USPS and UPS shipping at checkout.
  • Orders ship within 24 hours after a shipping label is created.
  • We understand shipping delays can happen with different carriers and we will do everything we can to assist you if an issue arises. However, once your order is shipped, the shipping carrier is now the responsible party.
  • As a courtesy we offer Route Shipping Insurance for your orders. Route is a 3rd party provider and in the event that your package is lost, damaged or stolen you will file a claim with them for reimbursement/replacement. 
  • Route is automatically selected at checkout, if you wish to not purchase you must "unselect" the option for checking out. 
  • We custom print each item based on your requests. For this reason, we DO NOT offer exchanges, returns or refunds. All fabric purchases are final orders.
  • If there is a quality issue with your fabric, please contact us within 3 business days of receiving your package so that we can fix it for you. Please make sure fabric is unused and unwashed. 
  • You are responsible for the quality of the design file and the scaling size.
  • Due to the nature of custom printing/processing, small printing errors can occur. If the area is less than the size of a quarter, we will not refund/replace fabric. 
  • We offer the following discounts:
    • 15% discount for 40 yards or more. Use code 15OFF40 at checkout. 
    • 20% discount for 100 yards or more. Use code WHOLESALE20 at checkout. 
  • We do not allow multiple discount codes used on the same order. (No stacking of discounts.)
